Meanings of Tattoo Placement

Chest tattoos more times than not are a representation of your love and devotion since the tattoo design is close to the heart. This is a great area to put the name's of the loved ones in your life or a loved one that has passed. Take my advice though, don't put the name of your boyfriend or girlfriend. I know from experience. In most cases the tattoo will outlive the relationship. I got my son's mothers name tattooed on my chest and guess what happened. You guessed it the tattoo lasted longer than the relationship. After years of wanting to get it covered up I finally got it done.

Finger tattoos are most common between married couples. They get their ring fingers tattooed to show a permanent devotion of their love for one another.

Forearm tattoos are very popular with men these days. It is a way for men to show their strength and toughness. I have three tattoos on my forearm. There aren't so bad though. I want to get another one.

Neck tattoos imply that a person is risky, daring, and makes bold decisions. It is due to the fast that your neck will almost always show. Neck tattoos are difficult to hide unless you wear a turtle neck. But who really wants to wear that in the summer. The neck can be on the top of the list for most painful areas to get tattooed, often times with symbols or the name of your loved ones.

Back tattoos are for those people that are more mysterious or maybe even shy. The tattoos are not able to be seen unless you wear clothing that is revealing or when you stretch. Back tattoos are often a sign of an ending stage in your life. It can show that you have something in your past that you want to put behind you so you can move on with the rest of your life.

So you see, there are many different meanings of tattoo placement. If you don't really know where you want to get your tattoo, think about why you want to get it and maybe this will help you to figure out where your tattoo placement should be.
